ABOUT US
Base candles started as a hobby, producing handmade soy candles that smell amazing for friends and family. After much trial and error we ended up creating some pretty awesome smelling candles so we decided to create our very own little candle workshop at our home in Adelaide, South Australia.
To make it all official we registered our business name and ABN along with building this website and setting up our online store. As we are only just starting out as a small local business we only have an online store at this stage with no physical shop. We understand buying online can be a bit nerve racking so your connection to our website is encrypted, ensuring any data you enter is safe and secure, plus we offer PayPal and Afterpay at our checkout which ensures all of your payment information is processed through their secure platform – plus you have the added benefit of PayPal’s Buyer Protection if you buy through PayPal in case anything should happen.
We courier most of our candles via Sendle which is a pretty nifty courier service that is 100% carbon neutral (#environmentallyconscious). They also offer tracking on all orders as standard. Orders to regional areas are sent with Australia Post. We pack all orders by hand and make sure your candles are super snug so they arrive safe and sound.
We also allow you to pick up your candles locally at Black and White Photographics located in Stepney, just a few minutes from Adelaide’s CBD. For more info check out the map out at the bottom of this page (note this is only a pick up location for online order collection).
SHIPPING
Orders take 1-2 days to prepare before they are couriered to you by Sendle. Most Adelaide orders arrive within a day or 2. Interstate orders vary but will generally arrive within 2-6 business days depending on your location. Orders to Hobart, Perth, Darwin and rural areas can take a few extra days. Sendle doesn’t send to PO Box’s or Parcel Lockers so we use Australia Post in these instances. For our full shipping policy check it out here.
REFUNDS
Sorry we don’t offer refunds for change of mind, however if your candle isn’t working as expected we can offer a replacement or refund providing you have followed our Candle Care & Saftey guide. For more detail read our full refund policy here.
